Listen

“To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.”

Unconsciously we are all waiting for life to happen once we obtain something, whether a dream job, house, education, partner, success, fame, enlightenment and so on. We wait for someone or something to give us permission to live a meaningful life. And for some, the waiting goes on for a lifetime.

How much of your life have you given away by placing conditions and playing small?

What decisions have you made and acted on that came from victimhood?

What beliefs led your life?

I hear you say, how can we know for certain that there’s more than meets the eye? How do we experience the wonders of the universe? Where is the proof to all this?

I invite you to pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. If only we can understand how life is finite and brief, maybe just maybe we can start to listen. The extraordinary manifests in the ordinary moments when we truly listen. Every moment there are signs all around us, at the exact moment with the exact message if only we listen.

Stop looking for that confirmation, you are the confirmation. You are the proof. You are the miracle. Just listen.

Love and Gratitude.

Rainbow Warriors

IMG_0234

“When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying. A new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from many colors, classes, creeds and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again. They will be known as The Warriors of the Rainbow.”

According to the Native American prophecy, the rainbow is a sign from the spirit in all things. It is a sign of the union of all humanity as separation is an illusion. The human heart is greater than any perceived color, and we have an opportunity to come together as one, all beings of the earth. The rainbow bridge will be the liberation of human consciousness, the atonement of connectedness to the inner self, a higher spiritual exhilaration so that we can dissolve the borders, abandon conditioning and perceived limitations.

The salvation of humanity will come from having the courage to clean up our internal delusion so that we can clean up the unsustainable mess of the people who are playing finite games, busy falling apart and indulging in tyrannical power structures that destroy human potential. The salvation of humanity will come from our strength to wake up, strength to turn inward to deeper parts of ourselves and embrace the process of individuation.

The legend of the Native Americans said; The mighty Rainbow Warriors will come in time of the great awakening, unite and create a new world of justice, peace, and freedom. They will reteach the wisdom that has been lost in time, break the outdated taboos of rigid and immoral systems of human governance.

We must all carry a Rainbow Warrior deep inside of us, unite in love and reverence for Mother Earth, unite in a vision to recover from a collective disassociation to the point of chaos and break free from the crisis of illusion.

Dissolution

IMG_0161“Only if we understand, we will care. Only if we care, we will help. Only if we help shall all be saved.”

Everything is a thought process, with thoughts, we shape our world, and our thoughts are the result of our perception. There is no reality other than what is perceived. Perception simply is awareness, comprehension, conception, and understanding of something. There has been an ongoing argument between psychologists to answer the question, “Is perception innate?” This phenomenon is believed to be partly innate (nature) and partly developed (nurture), and sometimes nurture is a hostile state for children due to hostile maternal rearing.

Humans are hardwired to be attached emotionally, and impaired attachment experience in early life causes disconnection from the self. Children who experienced attachment disorder, always live in fear and hypervigilance which results in many psychological and physiological illnesses and complications during childhood and later in adult life. According to the world health organization, 1 in 10 children diagnosed with a behavioral disorder such as depressive symptoms, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), learning disorders, ASD (autism spectrum disorder), conduct disorder, and many other anxiety disorders. We have an innate need of belonging and most of the time, as children we look outside to fulfill our sense of belonging if we are not getting this at home. According to evolutionary psychology, people today still seek the trait that made survival possible just like the mentality of the stone age hunter-gatherers.

Mental suffering comes from childhood and early life experiences shape our perception, which becomes our default setting and every choice made based on the childhood blueprint has infinite consequences and an impact on our biology, well-being, and spirit. There is a lot of evidence that emotional trauma is passed on through generations and according to research, over 70% of the mental and physical illnesses are the result of our childhood experiences. What if our parents did not know how to love themselves? Where does one get exposure to what is known as the healthy relationship with the self? What if we are the victim of a victim? Does that mean we are doomed?

Self-awareness is a big word, and most of the time it makes no sense to many people. Self-awareness is the capacity for introspection and the ability to recognize oneself as an individual and having a clear perception of our essence. There are many ways in which we can become self-aware as understanding the origins of suffering is the key and adopting tools and methods are the best way to move through challenges, release limiting beliefs and become an observer of life. Self-awareness is undertaking a hero’s journey into our deep unconscious to uncover the layers of self-illusion and the path to awakening is the dissolution of the perceived self.

How do you define awakening?

Healing Requires Ruthless Honesty

IMG_5108

All we have is our faith in the midst of unknown existence, we call life. understanding the significance of our insignificance is the ultimate awareness, as the continuum of flow of life does not stop for anyone or anything. Our ordinary ego wants constant attention, and according to Caroline Myss, “we have to beat the life out of our ego so that we can move towards the multidimensional being that we are and align with the evolution.”

The reason people stay stuck is because they expect change to come from outside, rather than from within and yet, absolutely nothing outside of us needs to change in order to change. We need to keep reminding ourselves that no one is interested in our reality and no one cares. The only problem is us, not what goes around the world. From the perspective of mystical principals, we are part of a greater reality and consciousness beyond the finite, physical world and we will pay the price for our games, our illusion will become our functioning.

To live a remarkable life, we must take action in spite of our illusion. We must embark on a journey of becoming conscious, abandon pain, regret, resentment, and go beyond the comforts of our distractions. Awaken the inner spirit. Dare to be bold. Dare to seek the truth. Dare to be brutally honest with the self.

Trust The Journey

IMG_5083

“Nothing binds us except our thoughts, nothing limits us except our fears, nothing controls us except our beliefs.”

Imagine if only we gave ourselves the permission to let go and dared to try something scary just enough to shift our perspective; imagine the possibilities and the wonder we could find if we break out of our comfort zones. Maybe we’re meant to do the things that scare us to find faith and greatness in ourselves but can we really trust our journey? and why do some things take a long time to understand?

Looking back at younger me, I see a very different person from the one I choose to be today. My spiritual journey started more than a decade ago as I found myself seeking for the meaning of life however, the process of walking the spiritual path took a lifetime, like a bamboo tree. Bamboo is a metaphor for personal growth, a mystical plant as a symbol of strength, acceptance, tenacity, endurance, and wisdom. It takes around four years in developing its roots and preparing to hold a 90-foot tree that would withstand the elements. I hear you say, not all require such endurance to find meaning and purpose in life and I agree, however, is patience still a virtue?

Our capacity for being patient has crumbled by the speed at which life now moves especially with instant information at the click of a button and waiting has become uncivilized in this era of hyper-speed. The spiritual teachings of great mystics identify patience as the first and last lesson and a companion of wisdom along with compassion. It forces us to be in the present moment and in resonance with absolute truth as patience is the basis for all spiritual realisation, moves us from the limited physical realm into the realm of surrender and trust. With practice, patience enables us to accept that things will not always go our way and helps us cultivate the positive emotions and empathy which allows us to trust the journey, live from the heart and let go.

How do you cultivate patience?

Life Is A Daring Adventure

Hellen Keller is known around the world as a symbol of courage and hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. After the age of 19 months, she was afflicted with an illness that left her blind and death. As a result, she was referred to a twenty-year-old graduate from the Perkins Institution for the Blind in Boston, Anne Sullivan who remained with Keller until her death in 1936.

Anne’s success with Hellen remains an extraordinary and remarkable story as a miracle worker and their closeness allowed Hellen to thrive and become the most powerful and influential blind-death woman in US history with unwavering determination, astounding intelligence, unbelievable courage and insurmountable achievement. She dedicated her entire life helping people see the potential in their own lives. Despite her circumstances, Hellen taught us that life is a daring adventure and the only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.

I will leave you with one of her quotes that shaped my perspective on my path as a seeker; “What you are looking for is not out there.. It’s in you.” Happy International Women’s Day in honour of Hellen and Anne, as their story kindle a light in the darkness and fills our hearts with inspiration.

Kill Your Expectations

“Only in my pain, did I find my will. Only in my chaos, did I learn to be still.”

In the midst of a profound shift in human consciousness, a new way of thinking is evolving into a deep belief that we could manifest what we want if we think right. Life is not a random series of events, it’s a highly intelligent unfolding and as Anais Nin once said, “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.”

Desire to change our reality is the new form of control, believing that we can control our reality while serving self entitlement and grand expectations. In order to awaken from the illusion, life breaks our hearts through adversity, forces us to trust, opening our awareness to a new perspective.

With the new level understanding, the arrogance of the human ego dissolves. We become less interested in changing anything in our lives and more interested in what is going on inside of us. We begin to unhook from the program and no longer a separate being. Instead we merge into the creative flow of life.

Dark Night Of The Soul

Art by David Gough

“Suddenly you’re a ripped into being alive. And life is pain, life is suffering, life is horror, but my God you’re alive and it’s spectacular!”

As we become more and more aware, a strange phenomenon starts happening. Our witnessing self increases in integrity and expands becoming stronger and stronger. A process of self-examination begins, a major cleansing that rids the psyche of useless self-concepts, belief systems which then turns into an existential crisis. Intense doubt in everything we’ve known to be true. Our sense of reality dissolves and deep understanding of illusion emerges as we fall on our knees, we become one with the infinite valley of the void where letting go of the attachments are no longer a choice.

In mythological terms, Dark Night of the Soul is a journey into the Underworld where difficult trials must be completed before returning with a newfound meaning, purpose and a huge responsibility. Surviving the dark night of the soul is a mental paradigm-shattering process and suddenly we realise that the ability to fall apart and come back is a real strength in the face of suffering with scars like badges of honour. We’ve been fire tested, initiated and connected to something much greater than us, only to do it over and over again! Each time returning with new wisdom, tuning into the flow of the cosmic orchestra.

Why We Must Eliminate Traditional Psychotherapy

Did you know The World Health Organisation has stated that by 2020 depression and anxiety will be the number one disability around the world? In the UK alone, 1 in 4 people have had counseling or therapy in their life or at least know someone who has. Relying on the pill became the norm. My passion is to eliminate the traditional approach and encourage people to take the matter into their own hands. Medical science is still very committed to finding a genetic and biological basis for all these disorders while completely ignoring that we are as humans profoundly interconnected social creatures and we don’t exist by ourselves which leads me to explore one of the most important human need: attachment. Healthy emotional attachment is a crucial part of healthy brain development in humans and it starts in the womb. Attachment disorder, however, is a disconnection from the self which distorts relationships, with ourselves, with our bodies and with the environment.
Research shows that every Nobel prize given started with Ivan Pavlov in 1904 until 1981 all agree that, our brain is mainly responsible for the movement of the body and its major role is to take care and protect the body. Experiencing attachment disorder in early childhood rewires the brain. Especially the frontal lobe which is devoted for social interactions between us and other people becomes asleep. The back of the brain is concerned about us; making sure that we breathe, eat, sleep so that the body is in balance, usually things that we don’t really pay attention to. The balance gets messed up with attachment trauma, eating becomes more or little, sleeping becomes more or less, the whole internal rhythm becomes disturbed, the back of the brain is hyper and agitated therefore making the person uncomfortable in their own skin. When all of these are going on, the person then will experience physical ailments such as digestive issues, anxiety, panic attacks as a result of the loss of senses and many other symptoms. Makes it very difficult for the person to be calm and open to the world as they are battling themselves internally, therefore they cannot be fully in the present moment or to feel alive.

Another huge impact is, they will have fundamental issues with perception where they impose their experience of trauma into their perception of how they view the world. For example, a person who had distorted experiences of trust will always view the world as an unsafe place. The evolution of the person is halted, as the person keeps playing the same story over and over again which will stop them learning new ways through new experiences. They are literally stuck and have an unfulfilled life.

Attachment trauma is not what happened in the past, it is what happened inside as this is the main cause of a very bad relationship with the body. The essence of trauma is physical inability and helplessness, so the natural biochemicals in the brain are moved to other parts causing an unhealthy relationship with the self. Healing the trauma needs to engage in mindfulness, understanding where it comes from, allowing ourselves to sit with the pain and experience it and then move through it with a physical movement such as yoga and breathing where the person needs to be fully engaged and attentive.

Recently, I have looked into research conducted by Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk about the importance of language on understanding trauma which was fascinating. He believes that language is the greatest tool to understand what happened to us and interpret our feelings and emotions to be more aware of our own state. However, it can also be a complicated tool as talking part of the brain is impaired in traumatised people which makes it extremely difficult to truly express themselves. This is the reason most people don’t have the ability to know that they are affected. For this reason alone going to therapy or counseling where the person is expected to answer a series of questions and pushed to talk about their unaware states and feelings leaves them more frustrated and hopeless.

To conclude, in order to start our journey to healing is to understand it then we can work on it, we can move it around and find ways to manage it and this has to start within. We need to take that journey to the inner self, what you are looking for is not out there, it’s in you.

Love Is The Answer

I am deeply saddened by the incidents that are happening in London recently and deeply disheartened by the compromised spirit of humanity around the world. As humans, we operate 95% from our unconscious level and only 5% from our conscious level. This is one of the reasons why people can inflict such pain on others. The limited beliefs and the suffering they have may come from a place of disconnection to their essence. The root cause may be a trauma in their childhood or a karmic debt that they are disconnected from the self. They are acting out their unmet human needs and driven to feel significant, screaming out for attention for all the wrong reasons even if it means a certain end to their own lives.

Understanding emotional awareness is a must in human existence. We need to be able to communicate our emotions without feeling threatened in order to find that deep-rooted cause of our self-disconnect and find peace and acceptance of ourselves and others for who they are. It has to start with unconditional self-love and compassion. If we don’t have love and acceptance for ourselves we can not love others. A journey to inner self is a must to make peace with whatever is going on inside.

“The salvation of man is through love and in love.” Viktor Frankl
Love is the ultimate and highest goal a human can aspire. In the absence of love, we give permission and consciousness to darkness to rule and destroy our connectedness as one with the universe. In the absence of love, mankind will continue to suffer the appalling atrocities that human beings commit against on one another.

“The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.” Brian Tracy
